Call of Duty Black Ops 7: How to Get Armory

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, the Armory is a menu rather than an item: it lives under Career > Challenges > Armory and holds the Weekly Challenge rewards and other unlocks you missed in earlier seasons. To get something from the Armory, select it there and complete its Armory Challenge, and it unlocks permanently.

This guide covers what ends up in the Armory, how to unlock items from it step by step, and how to spend less time grinding there, current as of Season 06.

What the Armory Is

Every Black Ops 7 season runs Weekly Challenges. Each week there are six challenges in each of four modes (Co-Op Campaign and Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone), 24 in all, and finishing any six of them unlocks that week’s reward. Most rewards are attachments, but some weeks it is a weapon, scorestreak or blueprint.

Whatever you do not unlock before the season ends moves to the Armory. Activision’s Season 06 blog puts it plainly: “Any Attachments, Weapons, or Scorestreaks that you don’t unlock via Weekly Challenges in Season 05 will be available in the Armory during Season 06 to unlock via Armory Challenges.” The same rule has applied since Season 02, when Season 01’s leftovers were the first to move in.

Other missed content lands there too:

  • Seasonal attachments. Activision’s launch progression blog says attachments you miss while they are live become available in the Armory “after the content is no longer available by previous means.”
  • Event rewards. The SG-12 shotgun was a Season 02 event reward, and Activision’s Season 02 patch notes later updated its unlock requirements “to reflect that it is now accessible via the Armory.”
  • Older weapons in Warzone. Since Season 01, the Warzone Armory lets you access “any weapons you have not yet unlocked from current or past titles” by completing a challenge.

Regular Level Unlocks are not in the Armory. Those come from leveling up and relock when you Prestige, as our Prestige guide explains.

How to Unlock Items From the Armory

  1. Open Career > Challenges > Armory. Player guides also point to a shortcut through the Challenges tab of the Launcher menu.
  2. Browse the list of attachments, weapons and scorestreaks, and choose the item you want.
  3. Select it as your active Armory unlock. You work toward one item at a time. Activision’s patch notes refer to “your current armory unlock” and “the selected Armory Challenge,” and player guides say you can swap your selection whenever you like.
  4. Play to fill the challenge. Player guides describe each Armory Challenge as an XP target that fills as you play, with most items reported somewhere between 250,000 and 750,000 XP. Activision has not published a full list, so check the requirement shown in the Armory before you commit.
  5. Watch your progress. Warzone has an in-game Armory widget that shows your selected Armory Challenge, according to Activision’s Season 01 Warzone patch notes.
  6. Select the next item once the first one unlocks.

How to Spend Less Time in the Armory

The easiest Armory grind is the one you never need. A few habits help:

  • Catch up inside the season. Activision says that as long as you play during any part of a season, all of that season’s earlier Weekly rewards can still be unlocked before it ends. A late start does not send anything to the Armory by itself.
  • Pick your best mode. Only six of the 24 weekly challenges are needed, and they can come from any mix of modes, so do them where you play most.
  • Stack Double XP. If the item you want is an XP target, a Double XP token speeds it up. Tokens you do not burn now will carry over to Modern Warfare 4, where they only count down in matches, per our Double XP token story.
  • Do not worry about Prestige. Items from Weekly Challenges and seasonal events are never relocked, so an Armory unlock survives every Prestige.
  • Chase the season camos too. Weekly rewards count toward each season’s two animated camos. In Season 06, any two Weekly Rewards unlock “Jelly” and all of them unlock “Leviathan.”

The Armory in Warzone

Warzone uses the same Career > Challenges > Armory path, and it matters more there because Warzone pulls weapons from several games at once. Given how many Call of Duty games have fed weapons into Warzone, the Armory is the catch-all for anything you never unlocked in the original game.

That setup is about to shift. From Modern Warfare 4’s Season 1, Activision says older weapons in Warzone move to a new Legacy tab with fixed attachment sets, while your Black Ops 7 weapons, skins, blueprints and camos stay usable. Our story on Warzone’s Operator skin toggle covers the details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you unlock more than one Armory item at once? No. Activision’s patch notes describe a single current Armory unlock, and player guides agree you work on one item at a time. You can change which item is selected in the Armory menu.

Do Armory unlocks relock when you Prestige? No. Weekly Challenge rewards and seasonal event items are never relocked, whether you earned them during the season or later through the Armory.

When do missed Weekly Challenge rewards reach the Armory? At the start of the following season. For example, anything you missed from Season 05’s Weekly Challenges became an Armory Challenge in Season 06.

Does the Armory work in Warzone? Yes. Warzone got its own Armory in Season 01, reached through the same Career > Challenges > Armory path, and it covers weapons from current and past Call of Duty games that you have not unlocked yet.
