To dance in Inzoi, place a speaker, start music playing on it, then click the speaker again and choose the dance option to get your Zoi (and anyone nearby) moving. Clicking another Zoi directly will not usually offer a dance, which is why so many players assume dancing is missing. That speaker method is still the core of it as of the current build, but a year of patches has added a couple dance, a table dance with an emotion requirement, nightclubs in every city and custom dances generated from video. We cover all of them below.
The Speaker Method
The base interaction has not changed since launch, and it is the one players consistently confirm works:
- Get a speaker. Open Build Mode and place any speaker object. Public lots with music, such as clubs, work the same way.
- Play music. Click the speaker and choose the play option. Speakers have their own track lists; the developer has added AI-generated ambient, Halloween and Winter Festival tracks to speakers in the v0.3.0, v0.4.0 and v0.5.0 updates.
- Start the dance from the speaker. Click the speaker again while music is playing and pick the dance interaction. Player reports name it Dance Together, and it pulls in nearby Zois rather than just the one you control.
A few details worth knowing. Dance floor tiles are decorative: players who tested them report no change in behaviour, and no patch note has ever given them a function. Dancing also feeds a real urge: the v0.3.0 notes fixed a bug where merely attempting the interaction fulfilled the dance urge instantly, so the urge now clears as your Zoi actually dances. Zois pick up nearby activities on their own since multitasking arrived in v0.7.0, so a household with a speaker running will often dance unprompted.
Couple, Table and Group Dances
Later patches added dances that live in other menus, not on the speaker:
- Dance as a Couple was added to the Romance category of interactions in v0.5.0 (December 2025). Click a Zoi your character has a romantic relationship with and look under Romance. Building that relationship first is covered in how to kiss in Inzoi.
- Dance on the Table is a self-interaction on tables. The v0.7.0 notes extended it to shorter rectangular tables, and v0.8.0 restricted it so it “can only be performed when in appropriate emotions.” If it is missing from a table’s menu, your Zoi’s mood is the reason, not the table.
- Group activities arrived in v0.5.0. Zois in a group prioritise interactions with each other, and group members will applaud and cheer for one another, which makes a party dance feel less like a row of solo loops.
The developer’s December 2025 roadmap lists more on the way, including intimate couple dances, ballet, waltz and K-pop performance motions, but none of those are in the patch notes yet, so we do not describe them as available.
Where to Dance in the City
You do not need to own a speaker. The cities have venues built around music:
- Club lounges in Dowon and Bliss Bay, which the v0.4.0 update furnished with pool tables and bowling lanes.
- Elegance Hotel and Nightclub in Bliss Bay, added as a property in v0.7.0.
- Beach Club in Cahaya, added in v0.4.0 (Cahaya needs the Island Getaway DLC).

Custom Dances From Video
Inzoi’s Make AI Emote feature turns a short video of one person into a Zoi animation, and dancing is what most players use it for. The developer’s May 2025 notice on generative AI describes the video-to-motion system as trained on over 1.7 million of its own motion samples and specifically calls out dancing as an output. The v0.4.0 notes then improved the quality of videos made with Make AI Emote, and v0.5.0 fixed a crash when creating them in Photo Mode.
The short version: open Photo Mode, select your Zoi, open the Pose menu and choose Make AI Emote, then upload a video of a single person dancing with the camera held still. Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I click a Zoi and choose dance? Solo and group dancing are started from a speaker that is already playing music, not from another Zoi. The exception is Dance as a Couple, which sits under the Romance category on a romantic partner.
Do I need a dance floor? No. Player testing finds dance floor tiles are purely decorative, and no patch note has given them a function.
Why is Dance on the Table greyed out? Since v0.8.0 it requires an appropriate emotion. Get your Zoi into a good mood first.
Can Zois dance together as a couple? Yes, through the Dance as a Couple interaction added to the Romance category in v0.5.0.
Can I add my own dance moves? Yes. Make AI Emote converts a short video of one person into a custom animation your Zoi can perform.
