To kiss in Inzoi, click the other Zoi, open the Romance category of the interaction menu, and pick a kiss interaction. Those options only appear once the two Zois have built up their romance gauge through romantic conversations, so the real work is the flirting that comes before the click. This guide covers how to raise that gauge in the current Early Access build, which kiss interactions Krafton has added since launch, why the option is sometimes missing, and what to do after the first kiss.
Build the Romance Gauge First
Every romantic option in Inzoi is gated by the romance score between two Zois. Since the v0.2.0 update in June 2025, that gauge is only shown in the Relationships menu after the pair has had at least one romantic conversation, so do not panic when a brand new acquaintance has no romance bar at all. Start with friendly small talk, then move to the Romance category and use the flirty conversation options until the gauge appears and starts climbing.
A few rules shape how fast it climbs, verified against official patch notes:
- Attraction settings matter. Each Zoi has gender identity and romantic attraction settings, and since v0.2.0 they can be changed at any time in Create a Zoi. If the target Zoi is not attracted to your Zoi, the romantic branch will fail no matter how charming the conversation.
- Traits and memories steer the outcome. The v0.7.0 anniversary update made conversation results depend on each Zoi’s traits and characteristics, and the developer has said a recent bad romantic memory makes a Zoi more likely to pick negative romantic responses. A fresh rejection is a reason to wait a day, not to spam the same option.
- “Set the Mood” scales with the relationship. Since v0.7.0 its success rate rises with the relationship score, so use it once the gauge is already healthy rather than as an opener.
- Teens can date too, but only other Zois in similar age groups, a restriction the v0.7.0 notes made easier to satisfy. Teen romance has its own softer interactions.
Relationship stages also change the tone. The patch notes describe a pair moving from Mutual Crush to Sweetheart, after which positive conversations become more likely and the fuller romantic menu opens up.
The Kiss Interactions in the Current Build
Once the gauge is high enough, the Romance category contains several kisses rather than the single “Kiss” option of the 2025 launch build. The ones named in official patch notes are:
- Sit and Kiss, added in the v0.4.0 update (October 2025), performed while both Zois are seated together.
- Kiss Passionately, added in the v0.7.0 update (March 2026) alongside a batch of new romance interactions.
- Kissing on top of a desk, added in v0.8.0 (April 2026) and limited to Zois in an intimate love relationship.
- Give Kiss Performance, a scripted wedding action added in v0.7.0 that plays during the ceremony rather than from the normal menu.
Zois can also hold hands with romantic partners since the June 2026 v0.9.0 update, which is a good low-stakes step when the gauge is not quite ready for a kiss. The developer’s December 2025 roadmap listed forehead kisses and long hugs as planned affection interactions; we have not seen them in a patch note yet, so treat those as upcoming rather than available.
To trigger any of these, select the target Zoi (a left click in top view, or the radial interaction menu in shoulder view), open Romance, and pick the kiss. The interaction goes into the interaction queue and plays when both Zois are free.
Why the Kiss Option Is Missing or Greyed Out
The 2025 version of this guide noted players who could do every other romantic action but not kiss. In the current build the game explains itself better:
- Hover over the dimmed option. Since v0.3.0, dimmed conversations and interactions show a tooltip with the reason they are unavailable.
- Check the interaction queue. The September 2026 v0.10.0 update added a note in the queue explaining why an interaction cannot be performed.
- Emotion gates. Several affectionate actions require an appropriate mood. A Zoi who is Enraged or Miserable will not accept a kiss; use “Comfort” or “Soothe” first, or wait it out.
- Relationship types. Cheating has real consequences since v0.9.0: getting caught drops the romance score sharply and the partner confronts the cheater. The Philandering and Single-hearted traits push Zois toward or away from side romances.
- Age groups. Adult and teen Zois cannot romance each other, and child Zois have no Romance category at all.
After the First Kiss
A kiss is the doorway to the rest of the romance system. From here you can ask the Zoi on a date, and since v0.7.0 married Zois can ask their spouses out too. The v0.10.0 update lets a Zoi with a high romance score invite the other to sleep over, and they leave the next morning. Getting a phone number, which Zois can now ask for flirtatiously, means you can call them or text first from the Contacts app.
