If you’ve been exploring the vibrant sandbox world of Inzoi and wondering how to get a pet, whether it’s a cat to keep your home cozy or a dog to follow your Zoi around, you’re not alone. Pets are one of the most highly requested features in Inzoi, but the current version of the game handles them a little differently than you might expect.
Can You Get a Pet in Inzoi?
As of now, Inzoi does not support fully adoptable or interactive pets like those seen in games such as The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs or Paralives. That means you currently cannot adopt, own, or interact with pets in the traditional sense.
However, there are a few ways animals still make an appearance in your game, and plenty of signs that real pets may be on the horizon in a future update.
How Animals Appear in Inzoi Right Now
While you can’t keep a pet in your household, Inzoi allows animals to roam the city through a clever system in City Decoration mode. Here’s how it works:
- Open the City Decoration tab while editing your public spaces.
- Look for the “Animal” category.
- You’ll be able to place up to three species of animals to populate your public areas.
- Animal choices include:
- Cats
- Dogs
- Pandas
- Deer
- Raccoons
- Foxes
- Squirrels
- Crocodiles
Once placed, these animals will roam freely throughout the city, adding life and ambiance to parks, neighborhoods, and commercial zones. However, it’s important to note that these animals are purely decorative, your Zois cannot feed, pet, or play with them (yet).
Are There Pet Items?
Interestingly, Inzoi features pet-themed items in Build Mode, such as:
- Cat wheels
- Scratching posts
- Dog beds
But these objects currently have no interactive function. Think of them as decor, cute, but non-functional.
This inclusion has led many players to speculate that true pet interactions may be coming in a future update. Given the popularity of life sim games that include pets, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them added down the line.
Will Pets Be Added in the Future?
The developers of Inzoi have acknowledged the community’s interest in pets and have hinted at potential features being added later. As of now, there’s no confirmed release date for pets as interactive members of your Zoi household, but many players are hopeful that they will arrive sometime in a major update, possibly after 2025.
While you can’t have a personal pet just yet, animals still play a small but charming role in Inzoi. By adding them to your cities through decoration, you can still bring life to your world while we all wait for more immersive pet gameplay.
