Studying in Inzoi means two things: teenage students complete homework and sit exams through the school system, and any Zoi can study to raise skills by reading at a bookshelf, using a computer, or joining skill-based group activities. The June 2026 High School update replaced the old rabbit hole school with real classes, Thursday tests and grades, so the routine has changed a lot since 2025. This guide covers what students need to do each week, how to turn in homework, how adults study skills, and why grades are about to matter beyond the classroom.
How School Changed in 2026
At launch, teen Zois vanished into a rabbit hole school and came home with homework in their backpack. The v0.9.0 update on June 19, 2026 added active high schools in Dowon, Bliss Bay and Cahaya, and the rules below are verified against those patch notes and the September v0.10.0 follow-up:
- Teens enrol as students and attend the same school until they graduate as Young Adults. Each school has a capacity; when it is full, extra Zois attend a rabbit hole school instead, and you can request a transfer through the school app to bring a specific Zoi in. Grades carry over.
- Classes run on a timetable covering Science, Art, Skill, Physical Education and General subjects.
- Tests are every Thursday. Overall grades combine test scores with behaviour in class, and poor grades bring warnings and eventually expulsion.
- Clubs have skill requirements. Cooking, fitness, cheerleading and programming clubs each want a related skill level before a student can join.
- Homework has a weekend window. Since v0.10.0, Friday homework can be completed over the weekend and handed in on Monday.
- Classes are customisable since v0.10.0, so you can pick which available students share a classroom.
Our guide on going to school covers enrolment and the commute; this one is about what happens once the books come out.
A Student’s Weekly Study Routine
- Open the school app on the smartphone. It manages school activities, shows the timetable, and is where transfers are requested.
- Attend every class. Behaviour in class feeds the grade alongside test scores, so a student who is present and not exhausted is already halfway there. The v0.10.4 hotfix also fixed rabbit hole attendance being counted as absence, so older saves should stop losing marks for nothing.
- Do the homework the day it is set, or use the weekend window for Friday’s. Items can be used directly from the backpack since v0.8.0, so you no longer have to drag the homework out first. Our homework guide has the step by step.
- Study before Thursday. Read a Book at a bookshelf, or use “Study Together in Romantic Mood” with a teen sweetheart, an interaction added in v0.4.0 that combines studying with relationship gain.
- Sit the test. Two hotfixes (v0.9.1 in June and v0.10.3 in September 2026) fixed students failing to take morning and afternoon exams, so update the game if a Zoi keeps skipping them.
- Join a club once the relevant skill is high enough; it counts as extracurricular activity and unlocks club outfits.
Poor family relationships are planned to drag grades down, per the developer’s July 2026 update, though that link has not appeared in a patch note yet.
Studying Skills as an Adult
Studying is not only for teens. Every skill in Inzoi rises through practice, and several study-flavoured routes exist:
- Read a Book at any bookshelf. Since v0.2.0 the interaction prefers books already taken off the shelf nearby, so leave the one you want on the desk.
- The AR Library is a public spot to read and, since v0.4.0, home to Claire and her ghost story missions.
- Critical Thinking grew four group activities in v0.7.0, so a family can study together and all gain.
- Programming trains on any computer, and the programming club at school gives teens a head start.
- Video Game became a skill in v0.10.0, so time on the console is now progress.
- Instrument, Fitness and Art skills each have group versions since v0.7.0.
The 2025 version of this guide mentioned studying tarot cards at a table. We could not find that in any patch note, so treat it as unverified.
Two things make sessions more efficient. Multitasking (v0.5.0) lets a Zoi talk while reading or using the computer, so a study session can double as social time. And since v0.7.0 the game interrupts any interaction when a need drops below 30 percent, so top up hunger and energy before a long read or the Zoi will keep walking away.
Why Studying Is About to Matter More
Grades and skills already gate things: careers added in the April 2026 Career update require an interview, freelance licences are graded by reputation, and clubs need skill levels. The developer’s stated direction, in its June and July 2026 development updates, is that academic performance will influence job interviews, employment and promotions. None of that is live as of v0.10.4, but a teen who studies now will be ready when it is. Our Inzoi hub tracks every guide as those systems land, including how to get promoted once the student graduates.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you study in Inzoi? Students use the school app, attend classes, and complete homework from the backpack; anyone can study skills with Read a Book at a bookshelf, a computer, or a group activity.
When are exams in Inzoi? Every Thursday under the High School update. Grades combine test scores with classroom behaviour.
Can I do homework on the weekend? Yes. Since v0.10.0, Friday homework can be completed over the weekend and turned in on Monday.
What happens if my Zoi’s grades are bad? Students receive warnings and can be expelled. Transfers to another school keep previously earned grades.
Do good grades help with jobs yet? Not yet. The developer has said academic performance will affect interviews and promotions, but no patch note has implemented it as of v0.10.4.
