Minecraft Dungeons II comes in two editions: the Standard Edition at $29.99 and the Deluxe Edition at $49.99 on Steam. Deluxe adds cosmetics (a cape, a pet and four hero skins) plus the game’s first two DLC packs when they release. Buy Standard if you just want the game; buy Deluxe, or the $19.99 Deluxe Upgrade later, if you know you’ll want both DLCs.
If you have Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, you can play the Standard game at no extra cost.

What the Deluxe Edition Adds
Per Mojang’s official Dungeons II FAQ:
- The Soul Cape.
- The Blub pet, which Mojang notes “can’t fight battles”. It’s cosmetic.
- Four Fancy Hero skins, for Valorie, Kellen, Ren and Flores.
- DLC 1 and DLC 2, “when released”.
No release dates have been announced for either DLC. Creative director Måns Olson has said free updates will arrive alongside them, so Standard owners still get new content.
The Pre-Order Bonus Is Gone
Pre-orders came with two skins, the Twisted Cape and the Twisted Chicken pet. Mojang’s capes article now marks them “No longer available through purchase”. Some store pages still say “Pre-order today”, but that’s old copy; the bonus ended at launch. Our capes guide covers the capes you can still get.
Game Pass
Xbox Wire confirms Minecraft Dungeons II was on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from day one, and it supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so one purchase covers Xbox consoles and Windows PCs. If you’re on Game Pass, the only thing left to decide is whether you want the Deluxe extras.
Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
Nintendo sells the Switch and Switch 2 versions as separate $29.99 products, and a Soul Pack with the Soul Cape, the Blub pet and the four hero skins. There’s No Ultimate or Hero Edition
If you’re searching for an Ultimate Edition or Hero Edition, those were editions of the first Minecraft Dungeons. Minecraft Dungeons II only has Standard and Deluxe.
Which One Should You Buy
- Standard if you want to try the game first, or you’re playing through Game Pass. You can upgrade later for the same $20 difference.
- Deluxe if you already know you’ll buy both DLCs and like the cosmetics.
